Ron Hornaday Jr., held off a late challenge from Mike Skinner to win the AAA Insurance 200, making him the first driver in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series to win four consecutive races.

Hornaday, the three-time series champion, had won at Milwaukee, Memphis and Kentucky. Hornaday and Skinner ran side-by side several times in the final laps on Friday, but Hornaday held on.

Kyle Busch says he’ll try to keep his emotions in check as he tries to move up the Sprint Cup standings.

An appeals court has ruled in NASCAR’s favor, granting its request to keep Jeremy Mayfield off the race track.

The decision Friday by the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals means Mayfield is once again suspended for failing a May 1 random drug test.

A federal judge lifted the driver’s suspension July 1, and NASCAR appealed to the appeals court in Richmond, Va. That court issued a stay until the appeal can be heard.

Chip Ganassi says he counseled Danica Patrick to finish all her IndyCar goals before moving to NASCAR.

Patrick has not ruled out NASCAR for next season and recently visited several race shops in North Carolina.
