Rain has forced postponement of NASCAR driver Tony Stewart’s charity race at a dirt track he owns in Ohio.

Organizers say Wednesday’s race has been rescheduled for Sept. 9.

Stewart, Jimmie Johnson, Carl Edwards, Kyle Busch, Ryan Newman and others had been scheduled to participate in the fifth annual Prelude to the Dream at Eldora Speedway near the western Ohio village of Rossberg.

Jeff Gordon had been scheduled to race, but decided to skip the event because of back pain.

Mayfield had hoped a judge would reinstate him in time to compete this weekend at Pocono Raceway in Pennsylvania.
