Tony Stewart has won his first race as a team owner, picking up a $1 million paycheck in Saturday night’s All-Star race.

Stewart passed Matt Kenseth with two laps to go of a thrilling final 10-lap shootout to win his first All-Star event. It was the first victory for Stewart-Haas Racing, the team Stewart has turned into a championship contender in just his first season of ownership.

It’s the second consecutive year Hornish has raced his way into the $1 million race. He finished second a year ago to earn one of the two transfer spots.
